Bananas in Bukidnon

Bananas displayed at Kaamulan’s Agri Fair

One of the highlights of the ethnic Kaamulan festival that celebrates the customs and traditions of the  tribal groups that  inhabited in my hometown province in Bukidnon was the agri fair  show and display of native fruits, vegetables and other native items such as souvenirs and gift items.

One of the proud Bukidnon food products are  sweet bananas from Mt. Kitanglad Agri-Ventures, Inc. (MKAVI) Banana Plantation. MKAVI’s banana plantation in the highlands of Barangay Alanib, Lantapan, Bukidnon.  MKAVI is a chief producer of quality highland sweet bananas which employs environmental conservation practices, manifesting the company’s high regard for the environment.

Another one is from Dole South Skyland Banana Plantation which is located at Barangay Dagumbaan, Maramag, Bukidnon. This 800-hectare banana plantation contributes to the supply of bananas for exportation.
