The Perfect Diet for the Christmas Menu
If you’re worried about piling on lots of weight over the Christmas it may be worth checking out the Dukan diet. It has a strong focus on high protein foods meaning you won’t have to worry about what to do with all those festive left over meats this year!
The Dukan weight loss plan focuses on removing slow energy releasing carbohydrates and replacing them with protein rich foods. Meaning your body starts to burn off fatty deposits opposed to using those carbs you keep feeding it.
Now would actually be a great time to start, what with 3 weeks until Christmas you will be within phase two of the Dukan diet phases which allows you to have vegetable and protein days. Meaning you won’t miss out too much on Christmas day!
There is a great Christmas day list of recipe selections which include the Dukan 100 foods online if you’re lost for ideas. It can be a bit limiting thinking of what to cook when you only have a choice of 100 foods.
If you’re not familiar with the Dukan diet then the 100 foods may be flying over the top of your head. Basically Dukan provides you with a list of 72 high protein foods and 28 low carbohydrate vegetables so you can reach your true weight following his healthy diet plan.
The Christmas menu shows you how to best cook with the 100 foods supplied, suggesting nice ideas for mains but also deserts.
The diet is the most obvious element to the weight loss plan but it will also require you to undertake twenty minutes of light exercise a day. However this shouldn’t be too challenging what with all the marching from various different shops trying to get all the Christmas shopping in the bag.
The diet starts to level out once you pass a phase called the consolidation phase and head into the stabilization phase which requires you to undertake one protein only day a week. So I would suggest you freeze some of that Christmas Turkey and stretch it out through January, after all you will have plenty of use for it!
